Like any artist, I do my work out of an overwhelming desire to express what is contained deep within me. All orders of Lilac Absolute Essential Oil are made to order. It is of my utmost pleasures in the world to prepare this unique and scarce product. It is the tiny breaths of flower whispers, captured in a bottle. Enfleurage is by nature, ephemeral, fleeting, and very light. The pomade captures the quintessential spirit of the flower as it exhales onto a thin layer of fat. There it is held fresh until I extract the lilac absolute essential oil from the fragrant pomade. The essence enters our nostrils, our lungs and our bloodstream, it affects our psyche and changes our being through its authentic flower wisdom. The enfleuraged product does not last long on the skin in comparison to other absolutes, essential oils or department store perfumes. It is ghostly and unusual in every way. It is so rare, I am the only one in the world who makes the real extraction of lilac.

What you are purchasing from me is enfleurage. I make two main products from Lilacs, first the Lilac Enfleurage Pomade, a fragrant creamy moisturizer and lilac skincare treatment, the second product I extract from the lilac pomade is Lilac Absolute Essential Oil …It is a hand made artisan product. It takes time to make and is very precious. It is something that is extremely rare and very expensive. It is not a mainstream product and I can only make a finite amount each year. The May 2022 Better Homes and Gardens article about me, “Heaven Scent” has brought my products to the mainstream however and the average mainstream person may not appreciate the nuanced and delicate scent of enfleurage. Please take note, I cannot refund your purchase simply because it does not smell as you might have imagined, or because it is such a small size, or seems like it is too expensive. I do encourage you to contemplate and consider, read and learn about the art form, Enfleurage, before you order. Note that it is a gamble in many ways. You may not like it, you may be expecting something different, it might not suit your taste, you might not even be able to smell it. Alas, yes, some people are anosmic to the light live scent of enfleurage. Please try the smallest amount available first, then let me know if you have fallen in love, awakened a childhood memory, cried, laughed, or maybe had the first good night’s sleep in a long time from your experience with my enfleurage, then you may order the larger size…

We travel to take care of our Jasmine, Gardenia, and other tropical gardens in the winter after putting our lilacs to bed. And so will be returning to our lilac farm in New York State, in April each year before the bloom.

Lilac season at Cherry Valley Lilacs begins Mother’s Day in May and is spectacular, swift and brief, lasting until the first or second week of June. We do Enfleurage starting in early May with Viburnum, Hyacinth, and Paperwhites, then lilacs in Mid May, with Sweet English Violets, and finish up the season Enfleuraging with Mock Orange and Peonies in late June.

We are a small family farm, open for visitors Mothers Day through Mid June 10-4pm, please call ahead… and we are always available by appointment. You can visit and take the historic educational lilac tour, witness active live enfleurage going on inside the Perfumery. Stroll through the fields with more than 150 varieties of the most fragrant blooming lilacs, in a special treat we call “Lilac Bathing”…. You can purchase lilacs to plant in your garden in our lilac nursery where we grow as many as 60 different cultivars for sale. We also have several workshops each year, for which you can sign up. Our Complete Enfleurage Kit for do-it-yourself Enfleurage is available all year long. Purchase of the Enfleurage Kit comes with my self published How To book, and a full day workshop at the farm or free technical assistance in a video call, or an option for ten hours of CEUs for aromatherapists.

I practice Enfleurage as my primary form of scent extraction, here at Cherry Valley Lilacs. It is my focal jewel, concentrating my efforts to bring the artisan craft to the world of natural perfumery and skin care.

Currently, Cherry Valley Lilacs is the world’s only wholesale supplier of Lilac Enfleurage Absolute Essential Oil and Lilac Enfleurage Organic Pomade, our clients are skin care companies and perfume makers in several countries. This offering allows the retail customer, the small perfumer, aromatherapist, and the natural products formulator to access this rare and amazing ingredient in samples and small quantities, without having to place a large wholesale order. All lilac absolute essential oil is slowly and painstakingly made to order from our stores of lilac pomade, so please allow 2-3 weeks lead time, especially for larger orders.

Recently we have begun full scale Enfleurage of Grand Duke Jasmine, Gardenia, Plumaria, and Tuberose in Mexico and Bali. All organic and sustainably produced tropical floral pomades and absolute oils from Enfleurage will be available in addition to our Lilac, Peony, Hyacinth, and Sweet English Violet Enfleurage products in the coming months.
